Help out schools that need books

From Sue Hughey:

CIPA Helping Those In Need

As we all know, Joplin, Missouri is recovering from a devastating tornado.  It will be a long time before the city is restored.

For years, CIPA has donated books to local library districts. To date, the dollar amount totals well into the tens of thousands. Now it’s time for us to step up and help this midwestern city rebuild their resources. The Joplin schools have lost all their books and are soliciting books for K-12 students and teacher resource books. The high school is completely destroyed. They’re looking for fiction or nonfiction, and any books that they can’t use will be given to the local National Guard unit.

If you have books they could use, even used books, or know anyone who might be interested, please box them up and send them by Media Mail to:  Deb Marshall, 1203 Spartina Drive, Florissant, MO 63031.

As independent publishers, we can do our part to help replace some of the books that were lost.  One person can make a difference.
